Eh up Kristalis

BrianKK formerly known as Prince, I mean Mouthagrit (that came from my landboard days when I would take a break have a sambo and have a mouth of grit), these days been on the water so didn't seem right to keep going with that one. Was thinking Mouthafish or Sogysambos for the water end of things but sounds a bit off.

Good winds.

Nice vid silverfox, Tramore looks pretty dam cool alright. If only those waters were as warm as they look, and the lagoon wasn't tidal eh!! It would blow Tarifa off the map.

Hey Mark

how did Sunday gor for ya? Did you head out in Tramore? Did ya get your kite machine sorted?

Was in Clonea myself. Only one on the water there. Got there round 9.30am, winds were steady 20 knots for the first hour to hour and a half, lots of white water. Good session. Then winds went a bit mad for southerlies, gusting between 14 knots - 25 knots,(always expected southerlies to be non gusty down this end of the country as straight off the sea) then started to die. Belly sore today so usually a sign of a decent session. (or a pounding)

Hey Brian, sad to say, but Tramore wasnt great atll.  Even more sad, was that I heard Dolly was.

Seems to be some sort of long shore drift or current in Tramore that makes staying upwind very difficult.  Winds were with us for a few hours but vanished from about 1.  I had given up before then anyway as I wasn't enjoying it.

On the brighter side, I have my kite bus sorted and collecting it when Im back from Tenerife 8)  I dont have too leave any of my gear at home anymore :D

Owen - were you in Tramore as well?

Bettystown was ok and usuall Dolly is a few more knots than Btown so I'd guess it might have been good there. Dun Laoghire said it got up to 17.4 knots at one stage in the afternoon.

Mark - Kite Bus? please do share.

Hey Tomas, shit yeah it was bloody cold yesterday, first time since I have started kiting that I have actually thought of coming in out of it due to cold. Beanie fell off once and when I threw it back on, had what felt like 2 mind of brain freeze before it warmed up again. Not the greatest session ever but at least I got it out of my system for another few days. Was strange seeing the southerly winds so gusty coming onshore.

get yourself a neoprene hood mate. i use one with collar dropping down under the wetsuit and i never get a leak around my neck. even if i wipe out after messed up s-bend when i crash head first and get dragged around the place unhooked, water never gets onto my chest.
btw. i don't quite understand this but marek doesn't wear a hood at all !

Hey Tomas

yeah I have one of those but switched to the beanie. They do keep the head warm and stay on great but the water gathering around my ears after a wipe out and not being able to hear a word people were saying to me drove me mad. Will stick to the beanie for now, this cold season has to end some time soon.

Marek must have no nerve endings in his head, BRRRRRR!!!!! He is a braver man than me.

How about cutting out holes for the ears...problem solved  :D :D :D  Great to have met you for the first time yesterday.  I stayed on until 5.30.  winds were 15-17mph all afternoon.  wouldn't have tried the power kites as there were lots of people out walking.  Got to fly the 5.5 bullet and 10m access for the first time on the Curragh today. Loved the kites but not too happy with the ozone seat harness. Felt as if my legs were being pulled for under me.  Will have to do though as I couldn't get a waist harness in my size (XXXL - if anyone has come across one let me know please)

My ears out like that would just slow me down, tee hee!!

good meeting up with ya too. Was great to put a face to the name finally. Good to hear there are more inlanders out there commuting to the coast every chance we get. Glad you had a good long session Sunday. See ya on the beach again soon.
