Frenzy 12m 2007 review/howto
« on: February 23, 2010, 09:05:34 AM »
hey - Well this is half review and half how too

Gotten to fly the kite yesterday :) - but the winds where a little stonger then what  they where over the weekend i gave myself an hour after work with it - kinda sh*tin my self to be honest lol

Launching
Smooth - just take a couple of steps back and up it goes and forward im pulled :P

Landing
I find it take a second or two for the kite to stop whats it doing and the slowing startin heading towards the ground

Reversing the Kite
I fond this tricky at times - do i need to need to pull both sides of the brake  and then when its in the air consincrate on one side only so it rights it self ??

Flying
I found it easy to fly - doing figure of 8s to get my self used to the kite, but i think i kept stalling the kite  or reachin the edge of the window(going to find out to day with another flight). I jump on the board also and i was being pulled along at a nice easy speed just to build my self up

Using the bar
It has nice control - slow turning cirle but not to slow that you fall asleep :P
Would i be right in saying when you doing when the kite in is in down wind and flying the kite up and down like a wave patteren .. when the kite is head down is that when up pull on the bar and when it goes back up again you push the bar out ??

Any help would be great

Cheers

Jon

Big kites are less forgiving on those, you have to give time to time
1/ Pull fully on the brake line equally and make sure you are in the middle of the wind window
2/ Once the kite raises, allow for some space for the kite to make its turn so allow it to raise a wee bit than the usual as it is a big kite you have there
3/ pull one of the power lines to give the kite an angle and start making a turn
4/ wait for the powerhouse to yank you off your feet
5/ fly Jo fly

Personally, I tend to let the bar out on the downstroke the on the up pull it in too power up.

Too stall or land, on my foils, I would yank the brake handle behind my hip and that would usually bring it down.

I'm sure after a few flights u will get used too the beast.

And for a sharp turn, say on a reverse lauch, grab up on the leader line for better reaction from the kite.

Fly and enjoy 8)

Good stuff jon.

On the reverse launch, sometimes there is not enough wind to back the kite completely up into the air and then pull on one of the power lines to turn it out, so keep that in mind with the size of that kite.

Be careful out there today, around my way anyway, the wind looks stronger today then yesterday so treat with respect.
